Before your First Grooming Appointment
Vaccination Records
The Paw Spa requires for the safety of our staff and the other pets in our care, pets to be up to date on vaccinations. We prefer them to be faxed before your 1st visit with us. If your appointment is on a weekend please ensure your Veterinarian is open should we need to call and confirm your pets vaccinations to avoid a $25 cancellation fee. Rabies and distemper are both Zoonotic disease meaning humans can get them from animals. So for the safety of the other pets in our care the health of our staff we will turn away any pet that doesn’t have these vaccines or titers up to date. Pets MUST wait 2 days after vaccinations are given before they can be groomed. Most pets don’t feel right after a vaccination or pain in the injection site and we want to make sure they have time to recover so that their experience with us is always fun and enjoyable.
We also accept Titer testing if it is current within three years and must be faxed on letter head from your veterinarian. If your pet can no longer receive vaccinations we require a letter from your veterinarian stating that your pet is not able to be vaccinated due to medical reasons.

CPR/First AID
Our entire staff has to take educational classes in order to work here. They must complete a First Aid/CPR every 2 years to ensure if an issue comes up they are equipped to handle it.
Certified Groomers
All of our Groomers have gone to extensive grooming school and receive continuing education during their employment at The Paw Spa. Some of our groomers compete in grooming contests around the country.
Grooming and Cleaning Supplies
All of the products that are used on the pets or a around them are all labeled as safe for pets. Our face wash is both hypo-allergic and tearless to ensure pets' eyes stay safe. We only use non-pesticide products on pets that have fleas. When working on a pet infested with fleas we spray around the table as we work on them and then bomb the salon after we close.
The cleaner we use kills staph, salmonella, E. coli, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine distemper, feline picornavirus, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, rabies, pseudorabies, streptococcus, canine parvovirus, viruses, bacteria, fungi, mold and mildew as it cleans, disinfects and deodorizes. Kennels and grates are clean after each pet. Tubs, tables, and floors are scrubbed daily.
Equipment
We use the best equipment on the market for the safety of our pets. Every single table in our salon has a Groomers helper which keeps dogs from spinning off the table. We use belly bands to help the older dogs stand and keeps them on the table. We have ramps to all our big tubs so dogs can walk up it and not have to jump. Each table we have is an electric so big dogs have a much easier time getting on them. Pets are never allowed to be left unattended in a tub or on table.
We kennel pets to keep them safe from the hazards of other pets. Some pets are ok with other pets but some are not so we kennel everyone that is in our care. This ensures we have noor injuries. Our kennels have a lock bar on them so pets cannot open the doors.
Heated Dryers
We have no heated kennel dryers or heated dryer boxes. We always have a staff member in the kennel/bathing room watching the pets
